Can Americans Teach English in Thailand Without a Degree?
An honest guide for United States citizens
A bachelor degree is not required to take a TEFL course in Thailand. It is, however, normally required for the Non Immigrant B visa, a work permit and most full time teaching positions. A TEFL certificate provides teacher training. It does not replace a degree or change Thai employment law.

Visa and work permit facts
The visa used to enter Thailand is not permission to work. Teaching for an employer requires the correct immigration status and a valid work permit. Our four week TEFL course does not automatically provide a Non Immigrant ED visa.
Entry rules can change. Check the official Thai eVisa website before travelling and read our Thai visa and work permit guide.
